Just booked my tickets for my trip during holiday in the end of April. Easter holidays.
Will be flying to Barcelona on 26th April, spend 3 nights there. Then fly over to Rome on 29th April, and back to Paris on 3rd May.
Taking Ryanair which is really cheap since they have promotions now. The air fare for the whole trip is about 80 Euro.
Also, I'm excited now since I'll be heading to London next tuesday which is 3rd of March by train(80 euro round trip).
Then flying to Scottland from London on 4th March to visit some friends and then back to London on 6th March(This cost about 50 pounds for return ticket since its last minute bookings which I regretted). Spend the weekend there(4 nights actually) and finally back to Paris on 10th March.
Ryan Air Rocks!! Except the part that their airport is somewhat far from town. But all in all, low cost air lines are still fabulous!!

Life 1-Anymore Kisses?
It's scary to spend your life rotting away with nothing else to do.
It's scary to be doing something and after that realise that they are just plain meaningless.
It's scary to be stuck in your daily routines, because routines only means you are doing something for the sake of doing it while waiting for something better in the future which you conveniently convince yourself to believe that the day will come which is also called False Hope.
What if that day never come? Then you'll be stuck in routines until your death which brings us back to the notion of statement one and two. Read more...

IUT Open Day and Valentine's Day 0-Kiss Me Now!!
Had a mini party with some french students on Friday night, they happen to be celebrating Valentine's just outside my apartment. And of course, I joined in for some drinks and accompany. Wakakaka..
Sorry bout the photo quality, but yeah, you can notice those hunks are really gorgeous. Even I myself couldn't stop staring at them!!
And then saturday was IUT's Open Day, and I have an exhibition there, showing the robot that I'm currently working on. So I had to work on Saturday too, and it's Valentines.
So I did an auto tracking program on Robotino for show, so that it could follow a red ball. A rough program, but yeah, just for the sake of the exhibition. And people like it.
Babies like it!!
Big babies like it too!!
I have a video showing it tracking but I'm not sure why I can't upload here. You can see it on my facebook though!
And I did not forget to hook up with some french chics!!
That's Ansophie and Audrey. We met in the party the night before and happened to meet again during exhibition.
And had a very filling pizza for lunch with my colleagues!!
In the night, I was at another french's house since they were having a crepé party. Yeah, crap party I thought!! Haha.. But crepé is just pancakes in French!
Did not manage to take any photo though.
All in all, a great weekend!! Read more...

黄昏的绚丽 0-Kiss Me Now!!
Read more...

A Chinese Face with Ang Moh Name 6-Overwhelming Kisses
Yes, what I meant is not the usual typical english name like mark, kent, and so on. But the really really ridiculously long Ang Moh name.
For example, i met this girl in a party back in kl the other day. Her face looks just like any other ordinary chinese chics, but when you see her name, you'll faint. Her name is Angela Julian Angraini!!
I'm like WTF?? No offense to the name or the person whatsoever(She's a nice girl with a pretty name). I just feel ridiculously surprise when I got her name card with that long long name.
And then today I was browsing through facebook, I saw my friend was tag in an album, so I clicked on it. There were several girls.. chinese... Chinese girls in the picture.
And you know how facebook shows the name of the people in the picture by tagging and so on? My cursor moves through looking at their names trying to see if I happen to know any of them(yeah I know I'm really free).
Then on the third girl there, this pops up.
Ruth Eleanor Dooley??
Grrrr.... Like how the hell did they get names like that? It's so pretty and so cool!! Can I have one too??
Then I was chatting with a friend who happens to have the name Samantha. A chinese girl. The next day after work, I came home and saw her online, but her name was Joyce now. The next day, her name turns into Sue.
You would say her name is Samantha Joyce Sue yeah?? But guess what?? Her full name is...
Samantha Joyce Leong Sue Ern!!! How fucking cool is that??? It's a hybrid version of the long Ang Moh name and a typical Chinese name!!!! Wow!!!! And the best part is you can be Samantha today, and Joyce tomorrow!!
Wicked!! Read more...

My job 0-Kiss Me Now!!
About my job, I am given a robot and what I need to do is simple. Program it.
This small robot here is fabulous. It's equiped with a built in linux based operating system, a flash card slot, its multidirectional, it carries 9 distance sensors, a webcam, a bumper strip sensor, 3 encoders, 3 actuators, a gripper, 2 color sensors, a metallic strip sensor. Oh, not forgetting its built in LCD screen and mini keypads!!
But yet, the final aim of my internship, is to program the robot so it could navigate itself using localisation systems(which i need to come up with), as well as mapping the environment(which means, taking pictures of its surroundings with its webcam, and then map out its surrounding in the robot's memory)!
So to achieve that, 1st you need to know the robot, its sensors and actuators and so on. Then you need to work with the webcam so it could take pictures. Then, you do image processing, to take out all extra information and extract the information you want from the image. Lastly, you store that information in its memory and construct its environment using that information.
Well, its just a few lines of words to describe my work. But after one month here, I only started on image processing. And the best part is, I need to complete this in half a year's time!!
Today, I managed to classify the objects on a table and extract them out from the image. Since I never do image processing before, it took me 3 days just to construct an algorithm for this.
Here's a picture of the original image captured from the robot's eye(webcam).
Next is a picture of the processed image with all the details cut out, remaining the objects edges.
Then, using this image, I need to count how many items there are on the table. To do that I have to classify each connected component as an object.
Here's the extracted picture of each object.
The pen!
Mr.Eraser 1.
And Mr.Eraser 2. In step image, which means the pictures consist of two levels only, either black or white.
The result.

I can now count the number of objects found, and from there manipulate the object data and so on and so forth.
By the way, I designed the interface. That button allows control over the robot's movements.
On a side note, this is the motion detector that I did for testing last few weeks.
And that's my job generally. Also, lately, more and more of my colleagues are getting involve in this project(reads helping me).
I guess it's a good sign! Read more...

The Balcony 0-Kiss Me Now!!
My balcony is nothing like some hotel's preseident suites' balconies, it's just a small one where I conveniently place my rubbish bag on it. Something which looks like this.
However, it is somewhat special to me. This is the view I get during the day.

This is the bridge linking to the main entrance of my appartment.
And the reason I say its special is this. I woke up this morning, looked out from the glass door of the balcony and I saw this.

I mean back in malaysia, how often you find yourself looking out at that same old balcony of yours but see a totally different view?? It probably never change at all till you get so bored you even forget that you have a balcony yeah?
And here's some night views..
And some random picture I took along the way to work today.
My snowball. I hope it's as solid as the one I used to have.

Birthday Wish 3-Overwhelming Kisses
A post to commemorate my 21st-Birthday in France. For those who can't read chinese characters, so sorry folks!! But yeah, it's my bday, so who cares!!
Read more...

Snowing Birthday 0-Kiss Me Now!!
It all started yesterday, was raining and weather was freezing cold. Then this morning, snow started falling covering the whole land.
It's a whole new view when snow falls. Even the football field that I pass by to work every morning seems brand new in white.
This noon, we went to a nearby restoran known for it's famous Crepé.
It doesn't only look nice, they are tasty too.
Yeah I had both, 1st is the meal, 2nd is desert my gosh. I think it's someway of celebrating my birthday here huh?
That, from left to right, namely Benjamin, Nicholas, Cristophe (my very cool sv), David (the group president), and Mathias (a glimpse of him) are my colleagues.
And of course Natalie our group secretary and Benjamin beside her.
And this is a beer that taste like sparkling apple juice. It smells like beer, but as you drink it, it's just sparkling apple juice. Who cares, as long as it taste nice.
And finally back to the snow, it was getting thicker as we arrive back at the office. And that's how Mathias drives, you can see the cornering he made watching the track on the snow.
Of course, he showed me a lot of car-skiing(or rather drifting) skills when he drove me home after work.
Thats my footsteps. As I was busy taking pictures, Mathias starts throwing snow balls at me. I tried to hit back, but they missed miserably. So much for not playing "seh chap" during high school days.
I feel that the chair looks like one of the chocolate vanilla layered biscuits I'm biting on.
And this is the tree top covered with snow which branches into my balcony. Everything seems exceptionally inviting today.
All in all, I missed the white christmas here, but I guess a white birthday will do too.
Happy birthday to myself!!

Future Holds 0-Kiss Me Now!!
It's cold outside
And I'm freezing alone tonight
Without you I tried
But nothing seems fine
Will I be alright
Will the morning sun rise
Will the stars continue to shine
Even in this cloudy sky
What does a blind man knows
If the rainbow shines
Or does a deaf hears
Part of these beautiful lines
And I never once thought
It'll be that hard to survive
Holding a bottle of beer I cried
Into the future I never recognise
I never once thought
that I'll be here alone tonight
Without you I try
But not tonight Read more...

Mathias's Pizza 0-Kiss Me Now!!
This is a tutorial teaching you how to make pizzas. The french way. haha.. It's really simple and interesting as you can try out a variety of tastes by simply including different ingredients.
So how it all started?? Mathias, my colleague who lives 3 doors away from me, invited me over for dinner with him yesterday. Said he was making a pizza, and out of curiousity, I went over early to observe how the pizza was made. It's interesting.
It all started with a layer of foundation, it's called Paté, somewhat mixture of flour and sugar and its ready made and you can get it here in the supermarket. Unroll it and place it in a pan as shown. Pour in some ketchup covering the whole area equally.
Next, put in whatever meat you like, in this case, it's gonna be pork. Don't ask me why, i'm not the one making the pizza. By the way, slices of salmon for instance might taste good too.
Again, top it with some Ketchup. Then, you'll have to prepare some green pepper slices and lay them above the pizza like this.

Now, cut some cheese slices, and cover on top of the green pepper.

Oh and I forget to mention, you should cook some minced meat before you start laying down the layers of your pizza. You know, it'll taste better if you could add some minced meat to the top of your pizza after the cheese as shown.

Finally you are almost done! Now, roll down the edge of the paté so that it forms a crust and covers the side of the pizza completely. You can even put in some cheese slices and roll them inside the crust.

Now, you can cover the very top of your pizza with slices of cheese.

Here, it is made manually, but you can often get these cheese slices in the supermarket too. They come in a packet and its really handy not only for making pizza but even cakes.
Finally the pizza is ready for baking!!
Lock it in an oven for 15 minutes or so, depending on how thick your pizza is.
And voila!!! It's done!! Simple yeah? And if you do it the right way, it might turn out even better than any other pizzas you get outside!!

If you are adventurous enough, start making your very own flavoured pizzas!!
Bon apetit!! Read more...
